For the Defense Engineering & Technology organization at GKN Fokker in The Netherlands – Hoogeveen, we are looking for a Survivability Analysis Engineer. The Survivability Analysis Engineer plays a pivotal role in the development, engineering and testing of structural, ballistic protection solutions for several platforms. You will be part of a dedicated, multidisciplinary project team within GKN Fokker. We are looking for a driven and flexible Survivability Analysis Engineer to join the Product Engineering Department. In this role, you will be at the forefront of developing lightweight composite structures with integrated structural ballistic protection. You will utilize advanced engineering simulation tools to support the design, development, and optimization of cutting-edge ballistic protection solutions. A solid understanding of fiber-reinforced composite materials is essential. Experience with armor solutions and knowledge of ballistic threats (such as small-caliber projectiles) is a strong advantage. In this role, you will In this role, you will play a key role in the development of advanced ballistic protection systems integrated into lightweight composite structures. We're looking for someone who combines technical expertise with a hands-on, solution-driven mindset and someone who’s ready to make an impact from concept to qualification. Your tasks & responsibilities: Develop simulation tools and methods to support the design and engineering of structural ballistic protection solutions. Translate customer requirements into concrete technical concepts for bids, proposals, and product development. Identify and solve technical challenges, while ensuring compliance with internal, customer, and regulatory standards. Support testing and qualification through the creation of test plans, simulation-based validations, and documentation. Ensure manufacturability and cost-efficiency by applying DFMA and design-to-cost principles. Collaborate across teams, from engineering to manufacturing, to bring high-performance protection systems from prototype to production. Participate in technical reviews, prepare documentation and reports, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Work independently while supporting and reviewing the work of peers. For this role, we are looking for a proactive, self-starting engineer with relevant experience in Analysis Engineering, ideally within the Aerospace or a similar high-tech, regulated industry. For this role, you need You bring a strong mix of passion, expertise, and practical know-how, along with the following qualifications and capabilities: A Bachelor’s, Master’s, or equivalent in a relevant technical field, or proven experience performing advanced engineering tasks. Aiming to achieve (or already holding) check/approval status within an engineering function. Comfortable taking the lead on tasks independently, while working within defined procedures and engineering governance. Able to clearly communicate technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences across the organization. Confident in technical discussions with customers and suppliers, acting as a knowledgeable and professional representative of the team. Skilled in analyzing and translating customer requirements into feasible and innovative technical solutions. Salary and Benefits Your salary will be determined based on the grading level associated with this position and will depend on your relevant experience and educational background. The gross monthly salary ranges from EUR 3.720 to EUR 7.021.
