Resident Engineer/Construction Manager

This Opportunity WSP is currently initiating a search for a Full-Time Resident Engineer/Construction Manager for our Houston, Texas office. Be involved in projects with our CM Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges Your Impact Pre-construction phase: * Assist in site selection and feasibility analysis * Conduct constructability reviews of design documents * Provide cost estimating and budget development * Help with bid package preparation and contractor selection * Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other consultants Construction phase: * Monitor project progress against schedule and budget * Identify and manage potential risks * Review change orders and recommend approvals * Oversee quality control and safety compliance * Reviews project activities with client and contractor's field supervision resolving disputes and other daily issues * Oversees materials testing activities * Reviews daily inspection reports and other project documentation * Facilitate communication between the owner, design team, and contractors * Conduct regular site visits and progress meetings * Analyze project data to identify cost-saving opportunities * Provide recommendations for project adjustments as needed * Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures * Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs LI-TD1 Who You Are Required Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent experience * Minimum of 10 years of relevant construction experience * A demonstrated ability to read and completely understand contract documents * Deep understanding of construction practices, building codes, and project delivery methods * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders * Proven experience in construction management, preferably with a focus on owner representation * Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies Preferred Qualifications * Professional Engineer (PE) / Licensed Civil Engineer or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) preferred
