AESC Group is a global leader in the development and manufacturing of high-performance batteries for electric vehicles (EVs) and battery energy storage systems (BESSs), with R&D centers and over 13 manufacturing bases in Japan, China, Europe and the US. AESC are rapidly expanding, we are setting up the Global Engineering Center (GEC) Europe as part of the global GEC, working closely with entities in the US, China and Japan. This role is based in Douai, with regional/global travel (approx 30%). As part of GEC Europe, you will be part of a diverse team of individuals who are highly skilled in battery cell manufacturing and have a proven track record in designing and ramping up battery cell manufacturing facilities worldwide. Your role As an Engineering Project Manager, your primary goal is to oversee and coordinate complex technical projects throughout the lifecycle of battery manufacturing. From feasibility studies to production ramp-up, you will ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Acting as a key liaison between engineering teams and senior management, you will align objectives, resolve technical challenges, and provide strategic direction. Your leadership will drive the successful execution of innovative projects, ultimately supporting the establishment of world-class battery manufacturing facilities. Your responsibilities Lead and manage technical projects from feasibility studies through to factory ramp-up. Develop project plans, including budgets, timelines, and resource allocation. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on project objectives and deliverables. Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to keep projects on track. Ensure technical solutions align with business objectives, local regulatory requirements, and engineering standards. Communicate project updates and milestones to stakeholders, including senior management. Drive resolution of technical challenges by collaborating with engineers and other specialists. Maintain project documentation and ensure compliance with company policies and standards. Your profile University degree (bachelor’s or equivalent) in engineering or a related technical field. Minimum 3 years experience of managing complex technical projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to align multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders. Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Gantt charts, Agile frameworks). Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment in high-volume production environments. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on risk mitigation. Ability to effectively communicate technical and non-technical information to diverse audiences. Adaptability to manage projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Fluency in English, proficiency in French, Spanish or Chinese is a not essential but a plus
