About the Role Job Title: Lead Data Engineer We are looking for a highly skilled Data Engineering Lead to join our client in Mexico City. This is a hybrid role that combines strong technical expertise in Data Engineering with leadership capabilities, ideal for professionals who thrive in fast-paced, production-level environments. The ideal candidate will bring a hybrid background in Data Engineering and Data Science, with a clear bias toward engineering and deployment at production scale, while understanding data science contexts and workflows. This role requires daily collaboration with cross-functional teams, guiding and unblocking team members, and ensuring successful delivery across multiple data-centric products. Key Responsibilities: Lead and mentor a team of 10 Data Engineers and Data Scientists. Split responsibilities 50% people management, 50% hands-on technical work. Facilitate daily stand-ups and other agile ceremonies across multiple product teams. Guide team members to overcome technical blockers and promote best practices. Oversee deployment and maintenance of data pipelines and services in production environments. Ensure adherence to data engineering standards and scalable architecture design. Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to align technical solutions with business objectives. Required Qualifications: 7-10 years of overall experience in Data Engineering and/or Data Science. 2–3 years of experience in team management or technical leadership. Strong hands-on experience with: AWS(Azure experience is acceptable), Docker(mandatory), Kubernetes(nice to have). Proven track record working with production-level systems (not just proof of concepts). Ability to understand and discuss how algorithms work (plus). Strong communication skills and stakeholder management capabilities. Located in Mexico City, with availability to work on-site 2 days per week.
