Job Description
The International Trade Analyst plays a key role in supporting the company’s global trade and logistics operations. The role is responsible for managing import/export activities, coordinating international shipments, and ensuring full compliance with trade regulations. The successful candidate will handle door-to-door processes, including multimodal transport, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth and timely delivery of goods. With 3-5 years of experience, the analyst will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and provide insights into operational performance and cost control. Responsibilities: Support Day-to-Day Import/Export Operations: Manage and support the daily import/export activities, ensuring smooth and compliant execution of international shipments. Prepare and review international shipping documentation, such as bills of lading, invoices, and certificates of origin, to ensure accuracy and compliance with trade regulations. Coordinate door-to-door international shipments, working with logistics providers and suppliers to ensure timely delivery to foreign customers. Facilitate Shipment Processes and Documentation: Oversee the preparation and submission of all necessary documentation for shipments, including customs declarations, ensuring full compliance with relevant international trade laws and Incoterms. Assist the International Trade Team Leader with audits or inquiries related to the import/export process, providing accurate and timely information when required. Operational Control and Reporting: Assist in maintaining and updating operational control tools to accurately track and monitor shipment activities, helping ensure timely delivery and performance metrics. Collaborate with the team in preparing reports and metrics for the international trade team, ensuring that data is accurate and useful for decision-making. Customer Order Management: Regularly review the status of ongoing shipments and orders, promptly updating internal customers on delivery timelines and progress. Resolve any issues related to shipment delays or discrepancies, working closely with suppliers, logistics providers, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth operations. Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Actively participate in continuous improvement efforts, identifying areas of inefficiency or cost-saving opportunities within the international trade processes. Propose innovative solutions for optimizing operations, including process improvements for documentation, shipment tracking, and cost management. Reporting and Cost Analysis: Prepare and present monthly reports on completed deliveries, detailing associated shipping costs and performance metrics. Provide insights into cost efficiency and process optimization, helping to reduce logistics costs and improve operational effectiveness. Additional Duties and Projects: Perform other duties and contribute to special projects as required, supporting the international trade team in achieving its goals and maintaining operational excellence. Requirements: Incoterms Expertise : Proficient in the use of Incoterms, with a clear understanding of the risks, responsibilities, and applications in global trade. Global Supply Chain Knowledge : Strong understanding of international supply chain processes, logistics, and transportation systems. Teamwork and Initiative : Able to work independently while contributing effectively to the team’s objectives; capable of taking the initiative and leading process improvements. Fluent Communication Skills : Fluent in English (written and spoken), with the ability to communicate effectively with global suppliers, logistics providers, and internal stakeholders. Administrative and Organizational Skills : Excellent attention to detail, with strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Proactive Problem Solving : Strong analytical skills, with the ability to proactively identify issues and recommend actionable solutions. Technical Proficiency : Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel for reporting and data analysis. Basic knowledge of Oracle or similar ERP systems, with a willingness to further develop software proficiency. Years of experience: 3 to 5 Years!
