Architectural Lighting Designer Jr. Employment Type: Full-time (Remote) Location: Remote (must be available during core PST business hours) Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM PST (flexibility possible; occasional East Coast coverage) Start Date: ASAP Compensation Options: Option 1 – Payroll (Nómina): MXN $18,000 gross/month Benefits: Law benefits superior perks Option 2 – Contractor: MXN $22,000 net/month Benefits: Basic (vacation Christmas bonus only) About the Role: We are looking for a creative and technically strong Architectural Lighting Designer to join our remote team. You'll work closely with architects, engineers, and designers on lighting design for residential, commercial, and institutional projects. This is not a sales role—your focus will be on design, coordination, support, and documentation . Key Responsibilities: Develop lighting concepts and layouts for diverse architectural projects Produce photometric calculations, CAD layouts, and technical documentation Collaborate with interior designers, architects, and contractors Select and specify lighting fixtures and control systems Conduct design revisions based on client and site feedback Stay current on lighting codes, technologies, and energy efficiency standards Support customer communication and assist the sales team with quoting and clarifications Use tools like AutoCAD, Revit, AGi32, Dialux, SketchUp, Adobe Suite, Slack, Zoom, and Emai Requirements: Experience: 1–3 years in architectural lighting design Experience in residential or commercial lighting projects (either is acceptable) Familiarity with energy codes, LED systems, and lighting control protocols (0-10V, DALI, DMX) Strong understanding of IES standards and sustainable lighting practices Education: Bachelor's in Lighting Design, Architecture, Interior Design, Electrical Engineering—or equivalent experience Software Proficiency: Required: AutoCAD, Revit, AGi32/Dialux, Adobe Suite, SketchUp Must be comfortable opening, navigating, and modifying design files Soft Skills: Strong written and verbal English (client-facing communication) Highly organized, detail-oriented, and eager to learn Able to work independently while collaborating remotely Optional but Preferred: NCQLP (LC credential) or IALD membership Experience with U.S. codes (e.g., Title 24)
