RF Optimization Engineer - Native Cloud/5G

Job Description : 1. 5G Network Performance Optimization : Optimize DISH's cloud-native 5G Open RAN network to enhance coverage, capacity, and user experience. 2. KPI Monitoring & Troubleshooting : Continuously track RAN performance metrics (SINR, RSRP, RSRQ, throughput, latency) and resolve degradations. 3. Drive Testing & Data Analysis : Conduct field tests, analyze logs, and optimize parameters to maximize network reliability and efficiency. 4. Open RAN & Multi-Vendor Integration : Work with multiple vendors to fine-tune network parameters and ensure seamless interoperability. 5. AI-Driven Network Optimization : Leverage automation, AI/ML analytics, and cloud-based tools to enhance RF tuning and predictive maintenance. 6. Interference & Spectrum Management : Optimize spectrum allocation, minimize interference, and ensure compliance with FCC regulations. 7. 5G Advanced Features Deployment : Implement Massive MIMO, Beamforming, Carrier Aggregation, and Network Slicing to improve efficiency. 8. Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work closely with network engineering, deployment, and operations teams to enhance network performance. 9. Regulatory & Compliance Assurance : Ensure adherence to FCC, 3GPP, and O-RAN Alliance standards for network quality and performance. 10. Customer-Centric Optimization : Align RF strategies with DISH's enterprise and consumer services, ensuring a superior 5G experience. Requirements : 1. Education : - Bachelor's or master's degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field. - Master's degree preferred but not mandatory. 2. Experience : - 10 years of experience in RF optimization, network performance engineering, or RAN tuning, preferably in the US telecom market. - Hands-on experience with 5G NR, LTE, Open RAN (O-RAN), and vRAN network optimization. - Prior experience working with US mobile operators, vendors, or technology partners (preferably DISH, Verizon, AT&T, or T-Mobile). 3. Technical Skills : - Expertise in RF planning, optimization, and troubleshooting for 5G SA, Open RAN, and cloud-native networks. - Strong understanding of 3GPP standards, O-RAN Alliance specifications, and FCC regulations. - Experience with KPI analysis, drive testing, log analysis, and performance tuning. - Proficiency in RF tools such as Actix, TEMS, Nemo, QXDM, iBwave, and network analytics platforms. - Familiarity with AI/ML-based network automation, cloud platforms (Wind River, AWS, Google Cloud), and edge computing in telecom. - Knowledge of interference mitigation, spectrum management, Massive MIMO, Beamforming, and Carrier Aggregation. 4. Business & Leadership Skills : - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills for network performance enhancement. - Ability to work in a multi-vendor, cloud-based, and disaggregated RAN environment. - Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, vendors, and regulatory bodies. - Excellent communication skills to translate technical insights into actionable business strategies. - Agile and data-driven decision-making approach to optimize network performance and customer experience. 5.
