Financial Analyst

Job Title: Finance Analyst Location: Fareham (on site 3 days per week occasional travel to London) Contract length: 3-6 months Pay rate: Circa £50,000 per annum Role Overview The Finance Analyst will play a pivotal role in supporting financial planning, analysis, and reporting processes across the business. The role will also require strong collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders, supporting decision-making through insightful data analysis and financial modeling. Key Responsibilities Support the preparation of the annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and long-range financial plans. Perform detailed variance analysis of actual vs. forecast/budget, identifying key drivers and trends. Prepare monthly management reports with commentary and insights for senior leadership. Extract, analyse, and manipulate large datasets to support business reporting and performance reviews. Use Excel (including XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, PivotTables, and advanced formulas) to build and maintain financial models and dashboards. Partner with marketing, sales, supply chain, and other departments to support commercial initiatives and provide financial guidance. Monitor KPIs and financial metrics, ensuring data integrity and accuracy across systems. Contribute to continuous improvement projects across the finance function, including automation and process optimisation. Essential Requirements: Part/full qualification held in Accounting. Experience in a finance analyst, FP&A, or similar role, ideally within FMCG, luxury, or retail. Strong Excel skills: confident with XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, PivotTables, and managing large datasets. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with high attention to detail. Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally and influence non-finance stakeholders. Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes.
