Job Description

The Firm Established in 2020, KP Law (previously Keller Postman) is a specialist litigation boutique, focussing on collective redress. The firm has over 100 employees across offices in London, Manchester, Birmingham, and Liverpool, , representing over 250,000 individual clients across a range of cases in areas such as product liability, competition, worker rights, data breach and privacy and financial services. ABOUT THE ROLE The Senior Project Manager is a hybrid role within the KP Law Change Team, reporting to the Head of Change & Data. The role combines line management and coaching / development of Project Managers (30% of role) and Project Management of Change Projects (70% of role), with some flexibility on role ratio split, dependent on need. Role Summary Project Manager Line Management & Development (30% of role) Supporting the Head of Change & Data with development & line management of project managers (4 in total) within the Change function. Key Duties & Responsibilities This element of the role will involve but is not limited to: Conducting regular 121’s with Project Managers (in line with the performance development process) Conducting appraisals with Project Managers (in conjunction with the Head of Change & Data) Conducting probation reviews with Project Managers Supporting the Head of Change & Data with any future recruitment activity Day to day HR admin (managing holiday requests and sickness reporting) Responsibility for PM change audits – ensuring the Change Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) is always adhered to by PM’s Feedback and coaching from Change audit results Ongoing coaching & development of PM’s to ensure consistent standards are maintained in line with the Change Management SOP. Project Management (70% of role) Working closely with a wide range of stakeholders across the business, the role is responsible for ensuring all projects within their remit are successfully delivered and are on time and within budget. Key Duties & Responsibilities The role will involve but is not limited to: Defining the scope, requirements, timelines, deliverables, resources and budgets for business and IT led change projects. Developing and communicate project plans, risks and opportunities effectively. Ensuring effective project logistics are implemented and the responsibilities for project success are clear and agreed with key stakeholders. Understanding and communicating progress against agreed project level KPIs to the stakeholders ensuring one version of the truth. Championing the use of best practice frameworks and templates to deliver efficiencies. Delivering effective and meaningful status reports and keep project repositories updated with the latest information and updated artefacts. Analysing projects and trends to gather lessons learned and adapting the processes to improve future projects. Managing relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally Acting as an SME and champion for change within the business. Skills and Experience Proven working experience in project management. Experience in working with technology and managing the implementation of software solutions. Strong experience in building schedules in MS Project and being able to show inter team dependencies. Understanding the Software Development Life Cycle and the role of each of the functional teams involved in project delivery. Excellent knowledge MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint, MS Project, SharePoint, O365 and JIRA. Knowledge of Project Management Tools or reporting services are an advantage, e.g Power BI. Ability to build effective, trusted relationships at all levels within the organisation and with external stakeholders and service providers . Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to take complex scenarios and to break them into easily understandable components or work packages. Strong team player with the ability to influence and enable multiple teams and/or projects. Highly self-motivated with the ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced dynamic environment with consistently high levels of performance. Ability to manage multiple projects in an agile way, with the right level of engagement and priority that adds value. Strong negotiation skills with the ability to skilfully navigate competing priorities and business demands. Project Management certification (PMP or equivalent) preferred but not essential.
