Principal Systems Engineer Milton Keynes Hybrid (3 days on site) £70,000 - £95,000 salary DOE benefits Our client are developing cutting edge hybrid control and inverter systems that power everything from high performance motorsport platforms to next gen passenger EVs , and we're looking for a Principal Systems Engineer to lead the charge! This is a chance to work on technically complex, high impact systems at the edge of what’s possible in electric propulsion. You'll be part of a growing engineering function where your decisions shape architecture, performance, and future direction. In this role, you’ll: Lead the full systems V-cycle: concept through to production Own architecture, requirements (DOORS, Polarion), and functional safety (ISO26262) Drive model-based development in MATLAB/Simulink Mentor and guide a small talented team and be part of recruiting and growing it Collaborate closely with controls, software, and hardware teams Why this role is exciting: You’ll be at the heart of innovative hybrid vehicle technology The projects span motorsport-level performance and real-world application You’ll tackle challenging system integration problems, not just specs on paper You'll shape the future of a team and play a key role in scaling it We’re looking for someone with: Strong systems engineering and requirements management experience Model-based control expertise for complex electro-mechanical systems A hands-on, mentoring leadership style Knowledge of inverter systems and hybrid vehicle applications Familiarity with SysML, DVP, and embedded software environments This is more than a job - it’s an opportunity to lead, build, and innovate.
