Financial Controller | Private Equity, SaaS. Renumeration | £80-£100k bonuses/benefits. Location | Hitchin, Hertfordshire. Permanent, Full-Time position. Office 3-4 days per week. The Opportunity: Finatal are partnering exclusively with a high-growth, Private Equity-backed SaaS business based in Hitchin, Hertfordshire. We are on a search for a dynamic and technically astute Financial Controller to join its leadership team. With a robust c.£30m ARR/turnover and significant investment secured to accelerate both organic growth and strategic acquisitions, the business is on a clear trajectory towards a successful exit in the next 2–3 years. Reporting directly to an experienced PE CFO , the Financial Controller will play a critical role in elevating the finance function to best-in-class standards. The position leads a team of four and partners closely with the FP&A lead as well as key stakeholders across Operations, HR, IT, and Technology. The Role: This is a broad and impactful role, encompassing financial control, statutory and management reporting, treasury, payroll, audit, and commercial finance support. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving change, embedding rigor and discipline across the function, and ensuring systems and processes are scalable, efficient, and PE-grade. The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) Possess a strong technical background, hands-on experience with financial systems (ideally having led or supported implementation/optimisation projects) Experience and exposure to consolidations, audits, and statutory accounting A proven track record of leading and developing a finance team Preferably within a SaaS, SME, or PE-backed environment, is highly desirable This role requires someone commercially sharp, operationally engaged, and systems-savvy, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is equally comfortable rolling up their sleeves as they are influencing senior stakeholders. The Requirements: Professional finance qualification ( ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) Strong technical accounting expertise , with experience across financial reporting, controls, payroll, treasury and audit Demonstrated systems experience – ideally implementation or optimisation Proven leadership experience in managing and developing finance teams Background in SaaS, SME and/or Private Equity environments highly advantageous Hands-on, proactive approach with a drive to deliver and challenge the status quo Location & Working Pattern: This is a hybrid role based in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, with an expectation of 3–4 days per week in the office (with flexibility to reduce as systems and processes mature). This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact within a fast-scaling, tech-driven business and play a key role on its journey to exit.
