We invite you to join our team as an Outside Sales Engineer , primarily for Northern & Center Italy , within the Systems and Software organization. With broad experience within the process industry and automation projects related to Distributed Control Systems (DCS) , Lifecycle Services, and Software Solutions, you will accelerate business growth in existing and new prospects. You will be responsible for all sales activities of customers in major industries, aiming to achieve agreed sales, bookings, and strategic targets with a focus on Emerson’s signature DCS - DeltaV system . Onsite presence is essential for effective collaboration and fostering our dynamic team environment. We operate a hybrid model of work (weekly 1 day remote option). Our office is located in Seregno, Italy . In this role, your responsibilities will include: Establishing, expanding, and acquiring new customers as the first point of contact for comprehensive customer support. Actively visiting and supporting existing customers. Preparing customer inquiries for processing by the back office. Managing and further developing Emerson’s market position by understanding customer business drivers & goals and staying updated on their situations. Preparing and being responsible for an annual booking budget by product, value, and period. Working in team project formats for integrated requests. Participating in relevant industry events. Who you are: You actively listen and check for understanding, adjusting your communication style to meet diverse partner needs. You anticipate customer needs and provide services that exceed expectations. You use customer insights to guide the development of new offerings. You foster teamwork that enables others across the organization to achieve shared objectives. Requirements for this role include: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical field, or equivalent experience. Proven sales/business development experience in a B2B technical environment . Background in industrial automation/process industries . Affinity for technology and innovations, with technical understanding, ideally DCS systems . Proficiency in CRM & MS Office tools. Fluent in English and Italian . Availability to frequently travel within the assigned territory. Valid driving license . Preferred qualifications that set you apart: Ability to work within a complex matrix organization and collaborate across business units. In-depth knowledge of major industries such as chemical, pharma, petrochemical, oil & gas (excluding power generation).
