Field Service Engineer - Materials Handling

Job Role: Field Service Engineer (Material Handling) Location: Reading, Berkshire (accepting applications from surrounding counties) Salary: £39,000 - £44,000 (OTE £50,000) - paid door to door Hours: Monday-Thursday 08.00-17:00 (Overnight stays in the southwest of UK, Greater Bristol) / Friday travelling back to home depot (half day) Door to Door Paid Overtime @ 1.5x Job Type: Full time, Permanent About the Client: Interaction Technical has partnered with a well-established, growing Material Handling firm in search of an experienced Mobile Forklift Repair Engineer to join their expanding team. Our client provides handling and access solutions to firms across the UK, with sites spread nationwide. The Package: 24 days annual leave public holidays (32 days total) Door to Door Paid Comprehensive training and development in electrical & mechanical repairs, fault finding, and diagnostics Overtime available at 1.5x - always available Pension scheme £25 per night allowance (additional £5200 per annum), accommodation and travel paid for No weekend work required Company van, fuel card - includes private use within reason All travel time and expenses paid from home to/from site Excellent earning potential with opportunities for internal progression Key Duties: Accurately diagnose faults, service, and perform emergency repairs/breakdowns on plant and forklift machinery Collaborate with customers regarding plant, lifting, and handling products Work independently at customer sites and collaborate with colleagues to ensure proper documentation and solutions Stay overnight in the South West of the UK – Monday-Thursday, with a half day on Friday Travel to sites to repair equipment and create solutions Work on engines, batteries, pneumatics, and hydraulics, alongside mechanical and electrical fault finding and repairs Requirements: Previous experience in the forklift industry (essential) Experience with hydraulics, mechanical, and electrical systems (essential) Experience with engines and batteries (essential) Electrical and/or mechanical fault finding, repair, and service experience Relevant qualifications (NVQ or City and Guilds in mechanical/electrical engineering) advantageous Full UK Driver's License Interaction Recruitment has specialist consultants across various industries within the UK, including Finance & IT, Technical & Engineering, Industrial, Commercial, and Hospitality.
