Joyson Safety Systems is headquartered in Auburn Hills, Michigan, USA, with a global network of about 43,000 employees in 25 countries. ABOUT THE POSITION In this role you will learn the basics of applied mechanical analysis for product design and development processes using FEA (Finite Element Analysis) tools and any other kind of analytical calculations, by assisting in the execution of actual CAE projects in the automotive safety business for airbag modules, steering wheels and seatbelt systems with supervision and guidance of actual CAE engineers. There’s the opportunity to learn from almost all of methods extensively used in the general world of applied engineering analysis: from simple static-structural setups to very complex explicit dynamics. MAIN ACTIVTIES Assist in the building of quality Finite Element models following the current automotive industry modeling requirements. Such activities involve: - Focus on the data processing and methodology development for AI. - Meshing of the models using tools such as Hypermesh or Meshworks. - Building sections or complete setups for some models involving boundary conditions, numerical analysis settings and material properties learning to consider accuracy and analysis application feasibility factors. - Effective reporting for product and process engineers Numerical problems in usual projects involve the solution control of linear and nonlinear stuctural implicit analysis and highly nonlinear explicit dynamics structural analysis considering a limited amount of computational resources. All of this, of course, under the supervision and guidance of an experienced CAE engineer from the team. Tools vary: LS-DYNA, Hyperworks, Virtual Performance Solution (ESI). Contribution for potential analysis methodology effectiveness improvement projects REQUIRMENTS: Education: Active students from 8th semester or related in mechanics, mechatronics, electronic, biomechanic, physic or related subject Technical skills: Adanced English , any CAE Software, high academic standards, previous exposure to structural/mechanical FEM procedures, theoretically or by direct execution or participation in analysis projects, Having successfully completed the Mechanical of Materials course (s) Others significant experience: Preparation of FEM models (pre-processing). - Model Setups and general condition prescriptions - Analytical calculations - Results interpretation and reporting Soft Skills: Effective communication skills, proactive, self-motivated Interested candidates we invite you to apply and become part of Joyson Safety Sytems!
