Stamping Engineer

Job Description: Senior Stamping Engineer Location : Tijuana, Mexico Salary : $100,000 - $120,000 annually Overview : We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Stamping Engineer to join our team in Mexico. This role involves setting up and managing stamping operations, sourcing and procuring equipment, and overseeing the stamping plant's steady state and transient stages. The ideal candidate will have strong technical and management skills, with a background in high-speed, precision stamping environments. Responsibilities : Set Up Stamping Operations : Establish and manage stamping processes using Bruderer machines and other stamping presses. Project Management : Source and procure equipment, oversee debugging, and manage the stamping plant's operations. Technical Expertise : Work with metal terminals, insert molds, and ensure the proper functioning of stamping dies. Steady State Management : Ensure materials flow correctly and tools are working efficiently. Transient Stage Management : Build the stamping room, contact suppliers, procure equipment, and oversee equipment debugging. Team Building : Hire and manage a team of 5-6 people, ensuring the plant is fully staffed and operational. Management Role : Grow into a managerial position, acting as a leader and overseeing the stamping plant's operations. Compliance : Ensure adherence to TS 16949 (APQP) regulations and manage the die qualification process. Data Analysis : Analyze data from parts using CNC measurements and Keyence instant measurement units. Tooling Proposals : Develop tooling proposals and estimates in tooling costs. Requirements : Experience : 3-5 years in high-speed, progressive dies in precision stamping environment. Technical Skills : Set up and run stamping dies on Bruderer presses (Perkins, Kendo, Minster) in the 20T - 60T range. Maintenance Planning : Knowledge of daily maintenance for stamping dies, including sharpening punches and tool requirements. CAD Skills : Ability to read 3D CAD solid models. Precision Stamper : Experience with stamping products no more than 25MM long, as small as .5 MM. Management Skills : Combined technical and management skills to set up and manage stamping operations. Language Skills : Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred. Additional Information : Contract Position : Experienced Mold Maker to work on stamping dies, hourly paid. Challenges : Address language barriers and skill gaps among candidates. Promotion : Potential for promotion to management level within 12 months. Visa Requirements : GC Cards / TN Visa preferred.
