Data Engineer

Social network you want to login/join with: MSC Cruises, the 3rd largest cruise operator globally, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Engineer to join our dynamic and international team in Naples . The candidate should be able to work independently in an agile environment, prioritize workload, and meet tight deadlines within a collaborative team setting. They will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and supporting business-critical data pipelines that enable enterprise Business Intelligence, Data Visualization, and Advanced Analytics solutions. The candidate should have a deep understanding of Data Architecture, Data Warehousing concepts, as well as Data Analytics and Visualization tools capable of harnessing large volumes of data from various sources, both on-premise and in the cloud. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines for ingesting and transforming data from diverse and complex sources, both On-Premise and in Cloud. Design data integrations and data quality (reconciliation) frameworks. Implement processes and systems to monitor data quality, ensuring production data is accurate and available for business processes. Perform data analysis to troubleshoot data-related issues. Assist in selecting appropriate technologies to meet the company's needs. Create custom software applications. Develop, run, and document unit and integration tests. Collaborate with Data Scientists and Data Architects. Work closely with frontend and backend development teams. REQUIREMENTS Degree in Computer Science, IT/IT Management, Systems Analysis, or a related field in technology or software engineering. 5 years of hands-on experience in architecture, design, and development of enterprise Data Engineering solutions and integrations. Strong understanding of Data Warehousing and Data Science concepts. Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Experience or knowledge of Agile Software Development methodologies. Excellent oral and written English communication skills. Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL DBMS (e.g., MS SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, Azure SQL, MongoDB, CosmosDB, Cloud Warehouse Technologies). Experience with Big Data Technologies (Hadoop, Kafka, Apache Spark, Spark Streaming, Azure Databricks, Delta Tables, ADLS Storage Gen2).
