Assembly Fitter

Assembly Fitter Location: Maidstone We are looking for a skilled Assembly Fitter to join our manufacturing team in Maidstone. You'll be responsible for assembling and fitting a wide range of fabricated parts, hydraulic systems, and electrical components to produce high-quality machinery and kits. The role focuses on ensuring all products meet exacting quality standards while maintaining safe and efficient working practices. What you'll do Depending on your section, your day-to-day tasks may include: Fitting and assembling fabricated parts and sub-assemblies Installing hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems, including valves, pumps and motors Pressure testing hydraulic systems Laying and securing wiring looms, fault-finding and performing basic electrical checks Cable-tying hoses neatly and accurately Dismantling and repairing faulty assemblies and components Using a range of tools (air tools, socket sets) and fitting fixings (nuts, bolts, hydraulic adapters) Lifting and setting large or awkward components safely Supporting engineering changes and development tasks Assisting in training and sharing knowledge with colleaguesWhat we're looking for Completed technical apprenticeship or equivalent experience Strong technical understanding of mechanical assembly - training will be provided to expand knowledge Good working knowledge of electrics, pneumatics and hydraulics Ability to read and understand technical instructions and build documents Practical problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail Able to work both independently and as part of a team Good time management and ability to work efficiently in a lean environment Physically fit - able to stand for long periods, work in confined spaces, climb into chassis or work underneath assemblies (all within H&S guidelines) Clear communication and interpersonal skillsCVs in Word Format to New Appointments Group, Expertly Matching Employers and Jobseekers since 1975.
