The CML Advocates Network (CMLAN) is an active international network for leaders of Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML) patient groups. It connects 131 patient organisations across 96 countries, facilitating and supporting best practice sharing among patient advocates worldwide. Hosted under the Leukemia Patient Advocates Foundation (LePAF), a Swiss-based non-profit, the network is governed by a Steering Committee of six regional CML patient advocates and three co-founders. The network seeks a Chief Executive Officer (CEO), an exciting opportunity for a strategic, motivated individual to serve the global CML community and support those affected by this chronic condition. Role and Responsibilities The CEO will lead the management of CMLAN, reporting to the network chair and the Steering Committee. Responsibilities include: Governance: Lead the network, support its mission, communicate effectively with the Steering Committee, and ensure good governance. Financial Performance and Viability: Manage the network’s finances, prepare budgets and financial statements, ensure sustainability, and meet legal requirements. Strategy and Operations: Develop and evaluate strategic plans, oversee initiatives and projects, and ensure alignment with the network’s mission. Network Operations & HR: Oversee daily operations, staff management, and organizational policies. Network Communications: Enhance public image, oversee communication activities, develop partnerships, and respond to stakeholder needs. Qualifications, Experience, and Skills Required skills include leadership experience in non-profit roles, proficiency in project management, negotiation, and public speaking, experience with funding and advocacy, and familiarity with legal and medical conference contexts. Skills in website management, digital tools, and patient content creation are also valued. Conditions and Offer Location preferably in an EU Member State. Willingness to travel (~30 days/year) and work outside standard hours if needed.
