Quantity Surveyor - Tarmac & Groundworks - Liverpool £45,000 - £60,000 Comprehensive Package Your new company This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established and rapidly expanding civil engineering and surfacing contractor with over three decades of industry experience. Your new role Our client is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team and support the delivery of groundworks and tarmac surfacing projects in and around the Liverpool area. You will be responsible for managing project costs from initial estimates through to final account, ensuring profitability and financial control while working closely with site teams, clients, and suppliers. Responsibilities will include: Managing all commercial aspects of groundworks and surfacing contracts. Preparing, submitting, and negotiating tenders and interim valuations. Monitoring project budgets and forecasting costs throughout the project lifecycle. Conducting site visits to assess progress and variations. Liaising with site managers, engineers, and clients to ensure smooth project delivery. Preparing and agreeing final accounts with clients and subcontractors. Identifying and valuing variations and change orders. Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with contractual obligations. Supporting procurement and cost reporting processes. What you will need to succeed: Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the groundworks or surfacing sector. Strong commercial awareness and understanding of NEC or similar contracts. Excellent negotiation and communication skills. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across the region. Degree or HNC in Quantity Surveying or related discipline (preferred but not essential). Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other standard commercial tools.
