Job Summary : We are seeking an experienced Embedded Firmware Engineer to join our R&D department. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in embedded systems, microcontroller programming, firmware development, and PCB design. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing firmware solutions for IoT devices and embedded systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities : Development & Optimization : - Develop, test, and optimize firmware for microcontrollers such as Arduino, ESP8266/ESP32, STM32, AVR, and Raspberry Pi. - Work with compilers like Arduino, AVR Studio, VS Code, Keil, MPLAB, STM32CubeIDE, and Fusion 360. Embedded System Design & Integration : - Work with various IoT hardware components, including sensors, WiFi/Bluetooth modules, and communication protocols (MQTT, HTTP, Modbus, SPI, I2C, UART). - Implement low-power embedded solutions for industrial and commercial applications. PCB Design & Hardware Testing : - Design and develop PCB layouts, handle PCB assembly, soldering, and testing. - Troubleshoot and debug hardware and firmware-related issues. Research & Development : - Conduct research and literature surveys on assigned tasks. - Maintain detailed activity logs and progress reports for internal tracking. Collaboration & Version Control : - Work with development and cross-functional teams to integrate embedded solutions. - Utilize POSTMAN, GitHub, JIRA, and Bitbucket for version control, debugging, and project management. Required Skills & Experience : - 4-5 years of hands-on experience in embedded firmware development. - Strong programming skills in C, C++, Python (for scripting/testing). - Experience with microcontroller-based product development (STM32, ESP32, Arduino, AVR, PIC, Raspberry Pi). - Knowledge of IoT protocols, wireless communication (WiFi, BLE, LoRa, Zigbee). - Experience with PCB design, hardware debugging, and power management techniques. - Familiarity with RTOS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr) and Linux-based embedded systems is a plus. - Strong problem-solving and debugging skills. Preferred Skills (Added Advantage) : - Experience in cloud IoT platforms (AWS IoT, Azure IoT, Google IoT Core). - Hands-on experience with industrial automation, robotics, or automotive embedded systems. - Experience with Edge AI/ML in embedded systems (ref:hirist.tech)
