The Mechanical Design Engineer, based in Cambridge, UK, will be responsible for: Designing and developing robotic components including precision mechanisms and enclosures Creating complex parts and assemblies using SolidWorks with a focus on plastic injection moulding, sheet metal, and CNC machining Performing FEA and thermal analysis to validate mechanical designs Collaborating with electronics, software, and research teams in an Agile environment Supporting testing, debugging, and DFM for scalable production To apply for this Mechanical Design Engineer role, you should have: A degree or master's in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline Experience of hands-on mechanical design experience Strong proficiency with SolidWorks, including generating manufacturing drawings Proven experience designing injection-moulded plastic parts, sheet metal enclosures, and precision mechanical assemblies Familiarity with FEA tools, prototyping, and mechanical testing A practical, hands-on approach and excellent problem-solving skills This role offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
