Estimator / Quantity Surveyor – Groundworks (Civils) Location: Ipswich Salary: £80,000 – £90,000 package Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Agency: Lonsite Recruitment About the Role: Lonsite is working with a leading groundworks and civil engineering contractor based in Ipswich, who are looking to expand their commercial team with the addition of an experienced Estimator / Quantity Surveyor. This role offers a great opportunity for a commercially astute individual to be involved across both pre-construction and live project delivery within the groundworks and civils sector. Key Responsibilities: * Prepare detailed estimates and tender submissions for groundworks and infrastructure projects * Interpret drawings, specifications, and bills of quantities * Source and negotiate competitive prices from suppliers and subcontractors * Manage valuations, variations, cost tracking, and final accounts * Work closely with operational teams to maintain commercial control throughout the project lifecycle * Attend client and progress meetings as required Candidate Requirements: * Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Estimator or Quantity Surveyor within groundworks or civils * In-depth understanding of earthworks, foundations, drainage, roads, and external works * Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills * Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software (e.g., Causeway or similar) * HNC/HND/Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or related field * Based within commutable distance to Ipswich What’s on Offer: * Basic salary of £80,000 – £90,000 depending on experience * Package including car allowance and benefits * Career progression within a forward-thinking contractor How to Apply: Please apply with your up-to-date CV or contact Russell Otter at Lonsite Recruitment for a confidential conversation
