Job Description

Assistant Project Manager We’re recruiting an Assistant Project Manager to support a unique and high-profile energy infrastructure programme as it enters critical phases across several delivery streams. This role offers hands-on experience supporting the delivery of complex systems, structures, and components within a nuclear power plant project. You'll play a key part in delivering our logistics, supply chain, and asset management strategies—essential to the success of the wider programme. Key Responsibilities Support Project Managers in driving successful execution of contracts and work packages. Align forecasts, costs, and schedules to enable effective storage and logistics management. Communicate logistics, transport, and preservation strategies clearly to stakeholders. Participate in tender evaluations, contribute to reporting, and enhance logistics and storage processes. Identify and mitigate risks related to equipment storage and preservation. Collaborate with IT to develop and maintain a data management tool to support logistics operations. Support the development and implementation of the Care and Maintenance (C&M) strategy. Assist in preparing documentation and evidence for hold point reviews. Monitor project progress, track actions, and help drive resolutions during key meetings. About You You have experience supporting project delivery in highly regulated, fast-paced environments where safety, security, and environmental performance are essential. Ideally, you bring relevant experience from the nuclear energy sector or similar industries such as oil & gas or defence. You bring: Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and reporting. A collaborative mindset with the ability to work across multi-disciplinary teams. Flexibility and adaptability to work under pressure in dynamic conditions. Essential Skills & Qualifications Degree in engineering, technical, or project management discipline. Experience in a project management or project support role. Strong IT skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and project management tools. Experience working in environments with high safety and quality standards. Ability to lead cross-functional teams toward project objectives. Desirable Project management qualifications (e.g. APM, PMP). Previous experience in the nuclear industry or other regulated infrastructure projects. Knowledge of logistics, supply chain, or asset management strategies in large-scale projects.
