Job Description

We are looking for a Regional Director of Finance, LATAM to lead and oversee all financial operations in the region, with a strong focus on Mexico. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in a growing company, driving financial performance while ensuring compliance with local regulations. Based in Cancun and reporting directly to the Vice President of Finance in New York and the Executive Vice President of Operations for LATAM & Caribbean, the Regional Director of Finance will be responsible for overseeing all financial functions, including accounting, tax compliance, reporting, and strategic planning, owner relations, while partnering with on-property teams to support commercial success. This role requires a deep understanding of Mexican finance and tax law, as well as experience navigating the financial landscape across LATAM. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a strong analytical mindset, a collaborative approach, and a passion for driving financial excellence. What you’ll do in the role… Be the region’s expert voice in everything finance with strict adherence to Mexican financial and tax regulations, staying up to date on changes and implementing best practices across properties. Become best friends with your region’s property Revenue & Marketing teams to create and execute brand-led conversion, traffic, and lead campaigns as well as seasonal offers that target need periods and growth objectives. Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, working closely with corporate leadership and on-property teams. Develop and implement financial strategies that drive profitability, optimize costs, and improve operational efficiencies. Monitor cash flow, working capital, and financial risks to ensure the stability and sustainability of the business. Provide financial insights and recommendations to support commercial decision-making and long-term strategic growth. Lead financial reporting processes, ensuring timely and accurate submission of financial statements, tax filings, and compliance reports. Oversee audits, liaising with external auditors and regulatory authorities to maintain compliance and transparency. Implement and improve internal controls to mitigate risk and enhance financial accountability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Development, and Commercial teams, to align financial goals with business objectives. Support property teams in optimizing financial performance, identifying revenue opportunities, and managing cost structures. Act as the financial representative in key stakeholder meetings, including performance reviews with owners and senior leadership. Lead and develop a regional finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, and continuous improvement that align with our values. What we’re looking for… A highly experienced finance leader with a strong background in Mexican financial and tax law, as well as broader LATAM markets 10 years of experience in financial leadership roles within hospitality, including EP and All-Inclusive properties Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards (IFRS, Mexican GAAP), tax regulations, budgeting, forecasting and compliance requirements. You take pride in being detail-oriented and responsive, with strong quantitative skills, you are confident to analyze data, numbers, draw conclusions and develop actionable recommendations as needed. Not everyone is a finance guru, you have the ability to effectively communicate financial insights to non-financial stakeholders, including executive leadership, property teams, and owners. You know all about managing external relationships with auditors, tax authorities, and financial institutions. Systems are your specialty, you are proficient in financial software and feel confident leading system integrations. What’s a finance expert without some super strong Excel skills?! We love a spreadsheet, so we’d love you to have experience with multi-function formulas and all of the wonders of excel. Happy to travel as you are an extension or our on-property teams and need to be up for regularly visiting in person. A great communicator with stakeholders across the business at any level.
