Codesmotech - Data Governance Lead

Overall Responsibilities : - Define and implement enterprise-wide data governance frameworks and policies. - Establish data governance best practices, ensuring alignment with business and regulatory requirements. - Work closely with data owners, stewards, and business leaders to promote data accountability. - Develop data quality standards and implement mechanisms to monitor and enforce them. - Ensure compliance with global data protection laws and regulations (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA). - Drive metadata management, data lineage tracking, and classification strategies. - Lead data governance training and awareness initiatives across the organization. - Act as a key stakeholder in data strategy and governance-related technology selection. Responsibilities : - Oversee the implementation of data governance tools like Collibra, Informatica, or Apache Atlas. - Define and enforce data access policies using IAM and data security tools. - Integrate governance controls into data pipelines, cloud platforms, and data warehouses. - Work with engineering teams to implement automated data governance monitoring solutions. - Define key metrics to measure data quality and governance effectiveness. - Collaborate with cloud architects to establish governance frameworks for cloud-based data assets. - Ensure data governance strategies are embedded into AI/ML workflows where applicable. - Maintain documentation of governance processes, policies, and data stewardship guidelines. Tools & Technologies(as applicable) : - Collibra, Informatica Data Governance - Apache Atlas - AWS Lake Formation - AWS Glue - Microsoft Purview - Data Catalogs - Snowflake - Redshift, BigQuery - SQL - Python - Tableau - Power BI - GDPR/CCPA Compliance Tools Preferred Experience : - Extensive experience leading data governance initiatives at an enterprise level. - Strong understanding of data security, privacy, and compliance regulations. - Experience implementing metadata management and data lineage solutions. - Preferred experience working with cloud-based data governance frameworks. - Ideal candidates have worked on enterprise-wide data strategy and governance initiatives. - Familiarity with integrating governance tools into data platforms and analytics workflows. & Certifications : - Bachelor's or Masters degree in Data Management, Information Security, Computer Science, or relate d fields. - Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or DAMA Certified Data Governance Professional preferred. - AWS Certified Data Analytics Specialty or Google Data Engineer certification is a plus.
