Job Description

OBJECTIVES Development of Total Water Management (TWM) opportunities: partners with project development team to provide project engineering support by developing process flow sheets, preparing proposals & estimates, and providing technical/commercial support at meetings with clients. Project Management of TWM projects: leads the execution phase, guiding the project team and sub-vendors with responsibility for project KPIs (cost, time performance); supervises commissioning, start-up, and handover of the plant to O&M team. Supports O&M (Operation & Maintenance) team for troubleshooting and continuous improvement in existing TWM contracts. Builds long-term relationships with internal and external customers by understanding their key business drivers. High emotional intelligence is required for this position. RECOMMENDED PROFILE Education: Chemical, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering Degree Minimum 10 years experience in the design and support of water and/or wastewater equipment and systems, including clarification, filtration, membrane separation, RO/UF, DAF, solids separation, metals removal, and biological processes for industrial clients. Minimum 5 years proven experience in project execution. Familiarity with water treatment plant commissioning and start-up. Fluent in English and French, both written and verbal communication skills. People-oriented attitude and capable of working in a team. Strong commercial mindset and financial acumen. Synthesis and pragmatic approach. Able to manage conflict and job-related pressure. Problem-solving skills. Willingness to travel 50% of the time for project discovery, cost development, and solution presentation. High proficiency in computer applications (Microsoft Office suite, business systems); AutoCAD required. Principal Accountabilities Report functionally to the TWM Engineering Manager within the Commercial Engineering organization. Based in France, maintain regular contact with the supervisor. Proficient in various water treatment technologies and capable of designing water treatment systems, including mass balance, flow sheets, water mapping, equipment selection, and costing. Familiar with engineering drawings (P&ID, General Arrangement, Isometric sketches, data sheets, troubleshooting lists, electrical and automation drawings). Analyze water and wastewater systems from mechanical, operational, and chemical perspectives; propose compliant solutions. Collaborate with clients and colleagues to determine project needs, evaluate business models, and develop project specifications. Supervise or conduct site surveys, basic design, ensuring technical and economic optimization between OPEX and CAPEX. Use technical expertise and financial insight to support project qualification, managing resources efficiently. Ensure project budgets are adhered to, and communicate issues to peers or managers to improve methods. Communicate effectively with all levels of personnel within Nalco and externally, including customers and contractors. Experience with plant operation & maintenance is a plus. Maintain customer relationships, address technical and business issues, and support contract renewals. Assist with troubleshooting, diagnostics, and improvements in existing O&M contracts. Be aware of international standards and norms for equipment construction and certification. Understand safety and environmental legislation requirements. J-18808-Ljbffr
