Job Description

Net Zero People are working with a leading Renewables developer based in Edinburgh and they are looking for a Associate Town Planner to join the planning department. The Associate Town Planner will lead the day to day oversight of the existing portfolio of planning applications. These applications currently consist of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Data Centres located within the central belt of Scotland. The Associate Planner will also play a key role in bringing the portfolio of sites through to the planning process. The Associate Town Planner will play a key role in ensuring that the company meets its Business Objectives and play an active part in identifying new opportunities. This will include managing the third party Planning Consultants and identifying and implementing strategies to secure the planning approvals within set timescales. Additional duties will also include speaking at planning committee and interacting and presenting to key stakeholders including Councillors, Members of the Public and stakeholder groups. With the assistance of other team members within the company the successful candidate will also play a role in identifying new business opportunities and assessing the planning risk. The successful candidate does not need to have a qualification in Town Planning, but should have experience in working for a developer, taken a lead on progressing sites through planning and be fully focussed on finding solutions to deliver successful outcomes within set timeframes.
