Mechanical Design Engineer

Mechanical Design Engineer Full-time | Office-based | Salary negotiable depending on experience My client is a reputable M&E contractor based in Derby, who are looking to expand their team with the addition of a Mechanical Design Engineer. This is a vacancy ideal for an experienced designer who can support the estimating team by developing initial quotations into Stage 5 construction-ready designs. You’ll play a key role in delivering technically sound and commercially viable mechanical solutions across a range of building services projects. The Role: * Progressing tenders into fully developed mechanical designs * Attending client meetings and design team discussions * Producing detailed mechanical drawings and specifications using CAD * Working collaboratively with the estimation team to ensure designs are aligned with project budgets * Identifying and delivering value engineering opportunities Requirements: * Strong mechanical building services design background * Proficient in CAD and design software * Confident communicator with experience dealing directly with clients and external consultants * Ability to manage workload and contribute to design development within a fast-paced environment * Knowledge of both pre-designed and D&B project workflows
