Database Engineer

Innovative organisation Strong corporate values & community engagement About the role: You will share responsibility for the support and development of our client’s database environments, database assets that range from GB to TB across on prem and cloud DBMS platforms. You will be proactive in maintaining systems to maximise service availability and provide a high standard of problem solving and decision making. You will assist software development teams in their design and adoption of databases, embracing a range of Vendor and Open Source solutions. Skills & Experience Required: A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a SQL Server Database Administrator in a medium to large corporate environment Proven experience in a multi-platformed database (HA DR) supporting multiple business channels in a 24x7 environment Proven experience with SQL 2008R2 up to and including current version with experience in managing high availability solutions (Failover Clustering, Mirroring, Always On Availability Groups) in medium to large environments Continuous improvement using automation and scripting (PowerShell and Shell) Proven experience in troubleshooting, performance tuning, code refactoring, security management enabling great customer outcomes Ability to adapt your communication style accordingly for all levels across both business and technology Experience of working in a DevOps/Continuous Delivery environment desirable Proven ability to manage and contribute to the development, publication, implementation, quality assurance and compliance to technical policies, standards and procedures at an enterprise level.
