Design Engineer

Design Engineer The role is varied and mainly consists of CAD design, the creation of supporting documentation, prototype building and testing. In addition the design engineer also displays creativity and innovation and will support and develop new patent protectable technologies for the company . Responsibilities * Design and develop new products and systems.​ * Support the Senior/Lead Design Engineer in the development of new products.​ * Create and maintain 3D & 2D data.​ * Provide technical expertise.​ * Support research and benchmarking on competitor products and products which could be developed in the future by the company ​ * Support the research and identification of new technologies and materials.​ * Coordinate with key stakeholders internal and external.​ * Communicate and present development project status at department level.​ * Participate in prototype builds and testing.​ * Support engineering change activities. Essential Skills and Experience * 3D/2D CAD​ * GD&T​ * FEA/CAE​ * DFMEA​ * Product design​ * Testing​ * Design specification. * Design for manufacture​. * Design for cost/commercial awareness​. * Presentation skills Advantageous - Skills and Experience * Fenestration experience * Systems design * Homebuilding standards & legislation
