Job Title: Senior Traffic Engineer Location: Nottingham Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 (DOE) Type: Full-time, Permanent Shape the Future of Transport - Join our client as a Senior Traffic Engineer We are seeking an experienced Senior Traffic Engineer to lead and deliver high-impact transport infrastructure projects from concept to completion. Your Role As a Senior Traffic Engineer, you'll take ownership of projects, manage stakeholder relationships, and bring expert-level technical knowledge to everything from traffic analysis to drainage design. Key Responsibilities Project Management & Leadership Lead traffic and transport projects from initial planning through to delivery and evaluation. Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to deliver high-quality outcomes. Provide mentorship and support to junior engineers and contribute to recruitment and staff development. Traffic Analysis & Design Conduct traffic flow studies to identify patterns, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement. Design comprehensive traffic management solutions including signal timing, lane configurations, and parking strategies. Use specialist traffic engineering tools and software to create practical and innovative solutions. Oversee drainage system designs ensuring compliance and effective water management. Implementation & Oversight Monitor project implementation to ensure adherence to design specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. Solve technical and logistical challenges during project execution. Communication & Collaboration Liaise effectively with local authorities, clients, community groups, and other key stakeholders. Prepare and present technical reports, proposals, and project updates. Support bid and proposal development for new business opportunities. What You'll Bring Proven experience in traffic and transport engineering, including project leadership. Strong technical skills in traffic design, modelling software, and drainage systems. Excellent problem-solving abilities and a solutions-focused mindset. Confident communicator with the ability to present complex information clearly to varied audiences.
