Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology (Industrial/Organisational Psychology) The Department of Psychology invite suitably qualified candidates to join their team. Main Objectives All academics are responsible for disseminating knowledge (teaching and learning), creating knowledge (research), and engaging in community engagement, recognising differences in executing these responsibilities within the various departments and faculties. Academics are also expected to assume administrative, management, and/or leadership duties at the departmental, faculty, and/or university levels. In addition, a Professor and Associate Professor are to provide academic leadership in the following areas: teaching and learning, research and community engagement, and contribute towards the institution's governance. This professor's leadership contribution should be evidenced at the departmental, faculty, and institutional levels. The Requirements Lecturer: At least a Masters degree in Industrial and Organisational Psychology/Industrial Psychology is required. Candidates willing to register for a PhD or who have made significant progress towards completing a PhD may also be considered. Registration as an Industrial Psychologist with the HPCSA would be an advantage. Some teaching experience is required. Must be acquainted with online/ blended teaching, testing and marking or be willing to immediately acquire these skills once on the job through workshop attendance or other developmental opportunities. Ability to teach and interest in any of the following areas is required: Psychological Assessment, General Industrial / Organisational Psychology. The ability to use a range of psychological assessment tools would be an added advantage. The ability to supervise postgraduate students as a research supervisor at Hons, Masters and PhD levels as per qualification will be required once in the job. Some evidence and experience in conducting research. Some evidence of administration, management and/or leadership roles (leadership roles may be informal). Senior Lecturer: A PhD in Industrial and Organisational Psychology/Industrial Psychology. Candidates who can provide evidence of having submitted their PhD for examination may also be considered. Registration as an Industrial Psychologist with the HPCSA would be an advantage. Teaching experience at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels is required. Teaching experience and interest in any of the following areas are required: Psychological Assessment, General Industrial / Organisational Psychology Research supervision of at least Masters degrees to completion is required. Emerging national profile in the discipline (Good to satisfactory research track record). Track record of administration, management and/or leadership roles (leadership roles may be informal). Associate Professor: A PhD in Industrial and Organisational Psychology/Industrial Psychology. Registration as an Industrial Psychologist with the HPCSA would be an advantage. Considerable teaching experience at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including Masters and PhD levels, is required. Teaching experience and interest in any of the following areas are required: Psychological Assessment, General Industrial / Organisational Psychology. Supervision of Masters degrees to completion is required. Supervising PhD degrees to completion is an advantage. National and emerging international profile in the discipline (Good to very good research track record). Proven track record in administration, management and leadership. Remuneration per annum (Grade L): Basic Pensionable Salary per annum: R633,149.00 Cost to Company per annum (Approximately): R826,949.00 Remuneration per annum (Grade SL): Basic Pensionable Salary per annum: R783,243.00 Cost to Company per annum (Approximately): R1,013,469.00 Remuneration per annum (Grade AP): Basic Pensionable Salary per annum: R936,120.00 Cost to Company per annum (Approximately): R1,203,447.00 All applications will be treated in strict confidence.
