Job Description
This is a full-time remote role for an Accountant / Finance Operations Manager at The SME Support HUB. This is a client facing role servicing clients in the UNITED KINGDOM. Additionally, the Accountant will be responsible for overseeing some client operations management, utilising analytical skills, managing UK Payroll and collections. Assisting with monthly/bi-monthly/ quarterly financial and management accounts preparation for UK Small business Assisting with managing client expectations and deadlines Assisting with the preparation of personal and business tax returns Carrying out full bookkeeping functions including journal postings and ledger reconciliations Processing client records accurately using Xero / Quickbooks software. Preparation of VAT returns and management accounts Phone calls to HMRC verifications or queries (UK equivalent to SARS) Preparing and submitting CIS returns (UK) Assisting with general administrative duties including meeting and greeting clients, filing, answering the telephone and supporting the team to meet deadlines as required. Preparing year-end financial statements for individuals and companies (IFRS, UK GAAP for SMEs). Analyse accounting systems used by businesses to look for inaccuracies and potential improvements or error correction. Understand and adhere to all financial and accounting regulations and legislation for the UNITED KINGDOM Perform UK Payroll , as well as, Accounts Receivable for SMEs Understand and adhere to all UK regulatory requirements for UK clients Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) degree or advanced degree in accounting, finance. At least 3 years of relevant experience in finance operations including Collections, Bookkeeping, UK Payroll , UK Tax Experience in an accounting firm (preferred) CIMA or ACCA part-qualified (preferred) Ability to work independently and remotely Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities Knowledge of UK financial regulations Strong attention to detail Experience working in fast paced start-up environment Previous experience in client-facing roles is a must Solid time-management skills and solid knowledge of Excel, Word and Xero/QuickBooks accounting package. MUST HAVE UNITED KINGDOM WORK EXPERIENCE REMOTE FROM ANYWHERE IN SOUTH AFRICA
