Senior Buyer & Category Manager (M/F/X)

The Nissha Metallizing Solutions Group is a leading global manufacturer of metallized packaging and label solutions. Our factory in Berlin is one of the largest manufacturers of metallized, coated, and laminated cigarette foil. Additionally, packaging solutions for the food, gift wrap, and beverage industries are produced in Berlin. Position: Senior Buyer & Category Manager (M/F/X) To strengthen our team, we are looking to start as soon as possible a Senior Buyer & Category Manager (M/F/X) . Responsibilities: Lead, drive, and support the local plant in all purchasing activities, reporting to the Supply Chain Director and Local Site Manager in a matrix organization. Manage procurement of raw materials at the group level, supporting and reporting to the Supply Chain Director. Manage supplier relationships, ensure supply chain reliability, and mitigate risks to achieve business objectives. Coordinate with internal stakeholders including local site managers, planning, and other functions across all five plants (USA, Brazil, Belgium, Germany, Italy). Monitor and analyze market trends, identify risks, and suggest opportunities. Define strategies with the Supply Chain Director and site manager. Scout, select, and approve new suppliers. Negotiate prices and conditions to meet company targets. Issue purchase orders and define agreements. Prepare purchasing budgets and forecasts. Utilize ERP systems daily. Perform expediting activities. Assist in managing non-conforming materials with quality assurance. Build and maintain good relations with suppliers. Collaborate with requiring departments. Report activities to local management and the Supply Chain Director. Manage relations with the purchasing organization across all group sites. Qualifications and Skills: Excellent negotiation, verbal, and written communication skills. Proficiency in procurement of goods and services. Deep knowledge of supply management, purchasing processes, quality systems, and standards. Ability to work under stress and in multicultural environments. Analytical reasoning skills with an independent and proactive approach. Strong problem-solving and prioritization skills. Team-oriented attitude. High proficiency in Excel. Experience in people management. Educational and Professional Requirements: Master's or Bachelor's degree in economics, engineering, or chemistry. Approximately 4 years of experience in international environments. Languages: Fluent in German and English. Travel: 20-30% of the time.
