Plan and collaborate with internal colleagues and external partners to establish monitoring benchmarks, performance indicators, and other UNICEF/UN system indicators to assess and strengthen performance accountability, coherence, and delivery of concrete and sustainable results for education programmes. Identify lessons learned and use knowledge gained for development planning and timely intervention to achieve goals. Actively monitor programmes/projects, exchange information with stakeholders to assess progress, identify bottlenecks, and take timely decisions to resolve issues or refer to relevant officials. Manage the appropriate use of programme resources (financial, administrative, and other assets), ensuring compliance with organizational rules, regulations, donor commitments, standards of accountability, and timely reporting. Coordinate and ensure the availability of technical experts to support all stages of programming. Research, learning, monitoring, and evaluation agenda Commission and manage research on topics like addressing gender socialization of children through schools and women's leadership in education, especially related to harmful gender norms. Lead and manage the MEL (Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning) agenda, including results frameworks. Lead and convene coalitions of partners on gender stereotypes in schools to promote joint action through MEL, knowledge products, and learning events. Promote innovative approaches and good practices for gender equality in education through advocacy, evidence, and technical advice, ensuring dissemination and scaling. Research and implement best practices on gender equality in education, institutionalize, and share knowledge learned. Advisory services and technical support Provide technical advice to global and country partners on policies, strategies, and approaches on girls' education and gender equality. Participate in strategic discussions, working groups, and advisory bodies to influence policies on girls' education and gender equality. Advise on the Feminist School online curricula and support management and implementation of small-envelope grants for young feminist activists. Advocacy, networking, and partnership building Build and strengthen partnerships with governments, UN agencies, donors, NGOs, research institutes, and the private sector to promote education goals. Support collective action and advocacy through evidence and knowledge sharing with global networks and coalitions. Research generation and use on women in school leadership Guide and support the WiLL research project, review research frameworks, and provide technical guidance to improve and target resources. Identify connections between UNICEF programs and WiLL evidence to facilitate evidence-based programming and advocacy. Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing between UNICEF Education and UNGEI goals on gender and women's leadership. Supervise a Research Associate and support the achievement of research tasks. Qualifications Advanced degree (Master's or higher) in gender/women's studies, education, sociology, psychology, child development, or international development. At least 8 years of professional experience in programme management, research, or related fields, with a focus on education, gender equality, and child rights. Minimum five years of experience in policy and programming related to gender equality for children. At least three years managing multi-country programmes with research and learning agendas. Experience in a developing country and in UN systems is an asset. Fluency in English; knowledge of another UN language is an asset.
