Standards Requirements ManagerSouth Kent – hybrid working£70-75k DOE (neg) excellent benefits Pearson Whiffin Recruitment are excited to be recruiting for a rare and unique opportunity for an experienced compliance and standards specialist to join a well-established and high-performing organisation in South Kent. This newly created role will sit within a high-profile Technical Authority team and will offer real influence in shaping the future of engineering standards and compliance across the business. We are looking for someone with a meticulous eye for detail, a sound understanding of ISO standards and technical compliance, and the confidence to advise on decisions that directly affect operational and safety-critical outcomes. Your responsibilities will include: Translating complex national and international regulatory standards into accessible, operational internal frameworks. Leading on the integration of Quality (ISO 9001) and Asset Management (ISO 55001) standards into technical systems. Acting as a trusted advisor to the Technical Authority, providing expert recommendations for compliance, risk mitigation, and operational improvements. Conducting robust gap analyses to identify risks or areas for improvement and ensuring internal processes remain fully aligned with external requirements. Managing cross-functional relationships across UK and European teams, ensuring consistency of safety and compliance standards. Contributing to decision-making on technical change requests, new projects, or deviations from standard regulations. Chairing and participating in governance forums to ensure standards are maintained, reviewed, and continuously improved. Delivering internal training, technical recommendations, and promoting a culture of compliance across the business. What we’re looking for: A Master's degree (or equivalent) in engineering, quality management, or a related field. Experience working in a technical, compliance, or regulatory environment, ideally within transport, rail, or a similar industry. Proven experience working with ISO 9001 and ISO 55001 standards. A confident communicator with excellent organisational and analytical skills. Strong understanding of risk, safety, and interoperability regulations. Comfortable working under pressure and making proactive and reactive decisions. Experience leading or influencing cross-functional teams in a matrix structure. Able to work on-site in Folkestone a minimum of 2 days per week, more during induction or as business needs require. Why apply?
