Unlike many OEM or supplier organizations, Garrett has visibility across a broad range of OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers. We have an exciting new opening for a Systems Architect. This role offers the opportunity to develop next-generation products and technologies for the automotive industry. The Systems Architect, as an individual contributor within the Electrification Center of Excellence (eCOE), will be responsible for: Ownership of EE system architecture design activities for active projects, including participation in technical discussions with customers regarding EE system requirements, understanding, challenging, and proposing alternatives. Defining and proposing Electric System architecture alternatives based on stakeholder requirements (end customers, internal customers such as product level and manufacturing, safety, and security). Selecting the optimal architecture through tradeoff studies considering stakeholder requirements, cost, timing, risk mitigation, and reusability, with documented justifications. Once the architecture is defined, cascading system requirements to system elements through design decisions, including dynamic behavior and interface definitions, in collaboration with domain experts (Controls, Hardware, Software, E Machine). Ensuring all architecture impacts are considered during and after architecture definition, including functional safety, risk analysis outputs, and change request impacts. Overseeing and supervising the development team’s work, collaborating closely with element owners (HW and SW designers) to ensure designs meet architecture and system requirements. Supporting the development of EE system engineering processes (e.g., Aspice, ISO 26262, FMEAs, Functional Analysis). Qualifications: M.Sc or Ph.D in Electrical, Electronics, or Power Electronics Engineering 5 to 10 years of experience in electrical systems architectural design and embedded systems development, with technical leadership in complex HW, embedded software, and mechanical system architectures Expertise in EE systems architecture design Strong holistic view and cross-functional mindset, with experience or references in software and hardware engineering activities Experience with system engineering methods, including functional analysis, risk analysis via FMEA/FTA, and safety analysis J-18808-Ljbffr
