Junior Digitalization Engineer

Job Description: About the job Franke plans to set up a digitalization platform in major plants using an OpenShift containerized factory edge solution architecture: Digital Production System (DPS): Manufacturing Operation Management (MOM) : Smart BI, Digital twin of production, Connected processes. We are looking for a Junior Digitalization Engineer (JDE) for our Franke Center of Competence (CoC). The JDE will manage and support DPS in daily operations locally, focusing on infrastructure, applications, and maintenance. The JDE collaborates closely with local and global IT teams, possesses digitalization skills to maintain and support connected manufacturing processes, and enables Franke production to achieve greater efficiency, agility, and competitiveness. The candidate should be capable of deploying, managing, and supporting software in OpenShift environments and designing reliable communication infrastructure to support manufacturing operations. Use Cases : Infrastructure & production maintenance, managing infrastructure status, providing first-level support, identifying and resolving issues, and following up with suppliers. Applications : SmartBI basics and advanced, configuring dashboards, adding data models and sources, and managing integration layer basics with Plant Service Bus (PSB), including development and deployment of new flows and queues. Key Skills (importance order): Problem-solving, first-level support, understanding manufacturing processes, hardware/software integration, networking concepts, industrial communication protocols (OPC UA, Modbus, Profinet, MQTT, Ethernet/IP), and excellent communication skills. Nice to Have Skills: Data analytics, monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch, Kibana), IoT solutions, Kubernetes concepts, CI/CD practices, cloud platforms, Git, Java, Python scripting, and automation. Skills specific to Oncite DPS: OpenShift platform, SmartMOM, QlikSense, IBM AppConnect Enterprise, PSB CI/CD, OpenShift Kubernetes, AppSmith.
