Social network you want to login/join with: RINA is currently recruiting for a Senior Marine Surveyor to join its office in Genoa within the Marine South West Europe Region Division. Mission The Senior Surveyor serves as an experienced and knowledgeable professional within the organization, applying expertise in maritime Rules, Regulations, and industry principles. The Senior Surveyor plays a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, quality, and continuous improvement of surveying processes. LI-GZ1 Key Accountabilities Professional Specialist: - Acts as a professional specialist, applying in-depth knowledge of Rules, Regulations, and industry concepts. - Keeps abreast of new developments and recommends changes to surveying processes and safety programs. Inspection and Reporting: - Conducts routine surveys on classed ships, offshore installations, or marine assets to ensure compliance with classification and statutory requirements. - Prepares technically accurate and timely reports of inspections and surveys. Leadership and Coordination: - Plans, schedules, and coordinates various phases of surveying work. - Monitors the quality of service, providing guidance to less experienced surveyors. Client Interaction: - Engages with clients to solve problems within the area of expertise. - Ensures client satisfaction through effective communication and resolution of issues. Training and Development: - Provides guidance and training to less experienced surveyors. - Contributes to the development and improvement of the skills and knowledge of the surveying team. Quality Assurance: - Ensures the maintenance of quality, content, consistency, and continuity of work performed. Ethical Conduct: - Upholds the highest ethical standards in all professional interactions, ensuring integrity, transparency, and fairness in survey processes. Education Master’s Degree in Naval Engineering Qualifications Minimum 3 years’ experience working as a Surveyor or minimum 6 years’ experience in the engineering or inspection/survey fields with an IACS member Classification Society. Understanding of RINA’s strategic technical positioning in the marine industry sector. Proficiency in English, suitable for the scope of classification, statutory certification, and related services. Ability to develop working knowledge of RINA Rules, Guides, statutory regulations, and related instructions, as well as RINA’s Employee Safety Policy. Knowledge of ship engineering plans, shipbuilding practices, and ship operations. Ability to perform either: New building surveys: assessing materials, hull, machinery, equipment, and issuing Certificates, Reports, Records, and Status in compliance with rules and regulations. Ship in service surveys: assessing maintenance, repair works, and compliance, including attending major conversions and identifying deficiencies. Knowledge of ship engineering systems and machinery. Knowledge of relevant software tools. Understanding of technical interfaces for group projects.
