Geotechnical Project Engineer

Job Description General Responsibilities: Provide engineering and consulting services for a broad array of projects and clients. This includes performing and/or leading field investigations, engineering analysis, calculations, recommendations, design and development of plans and specifications, observation and inspection, and preparing and reviewing reports. Review drawings and construction to ensure compliance with plans and specifications. Prepare proposals and cost estimates, track and evaluate project progress, budgets, and recommend changes. Research and resolve design and construction problems. Assign, review, and evaluate laboratory or field data for reports. Apply sound engineering principles and communicate complex issues to technical and non-technical clients and teams. Services may span sectors like public works, transportation, commercial, communications, energy, and industrial. Essential Roles and Responsibilities: Follow safety rules, guidelines, and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report safety issues to management. Provide and lead quality monitoring and improvement on projects. Promote quality standards and practices. Ensure consistent quality standards in project and proposal delivery. Manage detailed phases of projects with moderate complexity as a fully competent engineering professional. Perform a variety of projects or segments independently. Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate detailed project work. Work closely with senior project managers to gain experience for larger projects. Make design, engineering, and construction recommendations and modifications. Prepare proposals and reports for projects of varying complexity. Perform quality control reviews of proposals written by others. Evaluate laboratory and field data for reports. Serve as a technical adviser to junior team members. Interact with clients and project teams on scope, progress, findings, and recommendations. Write and prepare engineering reports detailing services, findings, and recommendations. Participate in marketing, sales, and business development. Supervise graduate, field, and project engineering staff. Work under supervision of a Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer. Begin mentoring and application process for certification as a Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Engineering. Minimum 5-8 years' experience. Master's degree in engineering preferred. Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history. Professional Engineer (PE) registration. J-18808-Ljbffr
