Artificial Intelligence Engineer - Large Language Models

Job Summary : We are seeking a highly skilled AI Engineer - Technical Consultant to help in designing and developing scalable, high-performance AI solutions. Role also requires candidate to support in various activities of AI COE at Illumina. The ideal candidate will have strong grounding in SW development and a deep passion for AI based solutions along with demonstrated skills to drive innovation and technical excellence. Key Responsibilities : - Collaborate with stakeholders, including project managers and technical leads, to define and understand business and technical requirements - Design, develop, and optimize AI-powered applications, ensuring scalability, performance, and security - Participate and contribute in discussions on AI architecture, development best practices, and solution design - Implement and fine-tune large language models (LLMs) and generative AI applications - Apply prompt engineering techniques to enhance AI model interactions and outputs. - Develop and maintain clean, extensible, and maintainable code using modern programming languages - Integrate Azure OpenAI, Copilot Studio, Azure AI Search, and other AI/ML platforms into enterprise solutions - Apply debugging tools and analyse system logs to ensure high-quality code and system performance - Collaborate with cross-functional teams across different geographies to deliver AI-driven solutions that align with business objectives Required Qualifications : - Bachelor's/Masters degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical field - 7 years of technical engineering experience with expertise in at least one of the following programming languages: C++, C#, Java, or Python - Experience in Prompt Engineering and LLM Fine tuning - Understanding of Azure OpenAI, Copilot Studio, Azure AI Search, and M365 Declarative Agent (Preferred) - Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines - Strong problem-solving skills - Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with remote and diverse teams Preferred Qualifications : - Experience with Machine Learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Scikit-learn - Prior experience working with Microsoft - Experience with AI-driven applications, generative AI, and NLP models (ref:hirist.tech)
