Middleware Engineer - Incident Management

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Tomcat, IBM Liberty VAS, Ansible, and IBM MQ administration. You will be responsible for deploying, configuring, automating, and maintaining middleware platforms that support mission-critical enterprise applications. Key Responsibilities : - Install, configure, and maintain Apache Tomcat and IBM Liberty (VAS) servers. - Deploy Java-based applications and manage web server environments. - Manage and configure IBM MQ objects like queues, channels, listeners, and troubleshoot message flow issues. - Develop and manage Ansible playbooks for automation of deployment, configuration, and maintenance tasks. - Monitor application and middleware server performance, logs, and health checks; take proactive actions to maintain high availability. - Apply patches, upgrades, and security updates to middleware components. - Participate in incident management and problem resolution for middleware-related issues. - Collaborate with application development, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to support deployment pipelines and platform improvements. - Document standard operating procedures (SOPs) and middleware configuration guides. - Ensure compliance with internal security standards and IT policies. Key Skills : - Strong hands-on experience with Apache Tomcat administration. - Expertise in IBM WebSphere Liberty VAS setup, configuration, and troubleshooting. - Experience with IBM MQ administration (queues, channels, listeners, troubleshooting). - Proficiency in Ansible for automation and configuration management. - Good knowledge of Linux/Unix server environments. - Basic scripting knowledge (Shell, Python good to have). - Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. Educational Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Good to Have : - Knowledge of containerization platforms (Docker, Kubernetes) is an added advantage. - Exposure to ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem Management). - Certification in Middleware technologies (e.g., IBM Certified MQ Administrator) is a plus.
