Astrotalk - DevOps Consultant - IAC Terraform/Ansible

Job Summary : We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced DevOps Consultant to join our dynamic team. As a DevOps Consultant, you will play a crucial role in helping our clients adopt and implement DevOps practices to improve their software development lifecycle, enhance collaboration, and achieve faster and more reliable deployments. You will leverage your deep understanding of automation, infrastructure as code, continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, and cloud technologies to provide expert guidance and hands-on support to our diverse clientele. This role requires strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for driving efficiency and innovation. Responsibilities : Client Engagement and Consultation : - Understand clients' business needs, technical environments, and development processes. - Conduct assessments of current DevOps maturity and identify areas for improvement. - Develop and present tailored DevOps strategies and roadmaps to clients. - Provide expert advice and guidance on DevOps tools, technologies, and best practices. - Build and maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders. DevOps Implementation and Automation : - Design, build, and implement robust and scalable CI/CD pipelines using industry-standard tools (e.g, Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, CircleCI). - Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation. - Implement and manage containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes or OpenShift. - Configure and maintain monitoring and logging solutions to ensure system health and performance (e.g, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack). - Implement automated testing frameworks (unit, integration, end-to-end) within the CI/CD pipeline. - Develop and maintain scripts and automation workflows to streamline development and operations tasks. Cloud Expertise : - Work with various cloud platforms (e.g, AWS, Azure, GCP) to design and implement cloud-native DevOps solutions. - Implement and manage cloud infrastructure, ensuring security, scalability, and cost-effectiveness. - Utilize cloud-specific DevOps services and tools. Collaboration and Communication : - Collaborate effectively with development, operations, and security teams to foster a DevOps culture. - Communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate clients on DevOps principles and practices. - Document implemented solutions and best practices. Continuous Improvement and Learning : - Stay up-to-date with the latest DevOps trends, tools, and technologies. - Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and the development of best practices. - Identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation within client engagements and internal processes. Required Skills and Experience : - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. - 3-5 years of hands-on experience in a DevOps or related role. - Strong understanding of DevOps principles, methodologies, and best practices. - Proven experience in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, CircleCI, etc. - Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g, Python, Bash, PowerShell). - Solid experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation. - Hands-on experience with containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, OpenShift). - Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their respective services. - Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Splunk). - Understanding of software development lifecycle and agile methodologies. - Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. - Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Skills and Experience : - Relevant certifications (e.g, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, Certified Kubernetes Administrator). - Experience with security in DevOps (DevSecOps) practices (ref:hirist.tech)
