Job Description Job Description Bronx, Family and Men’s Homeless Shelter seeks to hire two (2) Full-Time Housing Specialists to coordinate, facilitate, and assist families and men in obtaining permanent housing. The Housing Specialist will also be responsible for conducting a housing assessment to determine the participant’s housing readiness, family composition, and other housing needs. Conducts housing workshops for clients. Providing correct information to tenants regarding re-housing, benefits, or any other relevant tenancy issues. Helping tenants to understand their rights according to government legislation. Provide comprehensive case management and assist clients’ complete applications for housing, rent, and subsidy programs, S/he will maintain detailed participant notes and follow up daily and weekly follow-ups on resident transitional initiatives with information regarding interviews. Required Qualifications 2 Years of comparable housing or real estate experience Able to develop contacts with city-wide agencies and landlords. An Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Services field is preferred. 2 Years’ experience working with the homeless population. Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
