Job Description Job Description Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Swiss Turn Machinist to join our precision manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and troubleshooting CNC Swiss-style lathes to produce high-precision components. This position requires expertise in machining techniques, blueprint reading, and quality control to ensure that all parts meet exact specifications. Key Responsibilities: Setup & Operation: Configure and operate CNC Swiss turning machines (e.g., Star, Citizen, Tsugami, or Tornos) to manufacture precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications. Programming & Adjustments: Interpret G-code and M-code , modify programs, and make necessary tool and offset adjustments to optimize performance and maintain tight tolerances. Quality Control: Use precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, etc.) to inspect parts, ensuring compliance with tight tolerances and customer requirements. Tooling & Maintenance: Select, install, and maintain cutting tools and inserts; perform basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting to prevent downtime. Process Optimization: Work with engineers and supervisors to improve machining processes, reduce cycle times, and enhance efficiency while maintaining quality standards. Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate records of machine setups, tool changes, inspection data, and production logs while following all safety protocols and industry regulations (ISO 9001, AS9100, etc.). Collaboration: Work closely with team members, including engineers, programmers, and quality inspectors, to ensure smooth production and continuous improvement. Qualifications & Experience: Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of experience operating CNC Swiss-style lathes in a precision machining environment. Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), blueprints, and CNC programming . Machining Skills: Proficiency in tool setting, offsets, cycle time optimization, and troubleshooting . Measurement Proficiency: Skilled in using precision measuring tools to verify part specifications. Software: Experience with CAD/CAM software (Mastercam, Esprit, GibbsCAM) is a plus. Education: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a machining or technical trade school program preferred.
