PHP Developer - Symfony & Drupal Framework

We are seeking a talented and experienced PHP Developer with strong expertise in the Symfony framework and Drupal CMS to join our development team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining web applications and content management systems, ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions. You will collaborate closely with frontend developers, designers, QA engineers, and stakeholders to deliver robust and user-centric applications across a variety of business domains. Key Responsibilities : - Develop and maintain web applications using PHP, primarily leveraging Symfony and Drupal frameworks. - Create custom modules and components for Drupal CMS and integrate third-party APIs. - Design and implement RESTful web services and backend APIs. - Collaborate with frontend developers to ensure seamless integration of backend services. - Maintain code quality through automated tests, code reviews, and performance tuning. - Write clean, scalable, reusable, and well-documented code following best practices. - Debug and resolve issues in production and development environments. - Participate in sprint planning, estimation, and agile ceremonies with cross-functional teams. - Ensure application security, data integrity, and compliance with development standards. - Work with DevOps or deployment teams to support CI/CD pipelines and server configurations. Technical Skills & Tools : Core Backend : - Strong proficiency in PHP 7/8 - In-depth experience with Symfony framework (v4/v5/v6) - Extensive experience with Drupal 8/9/10 (including custom module development) Frontend Integration : - Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery - Experience with templating engines like Twig Database & Storage - MySQL / MariaDB - Doctrine ORM - Basic understanding of NoSQL (MongoDB) is a plus API & Integration - RESTful API design and integration - Familiarity with GraphQL (optional) - Third-party service integrations (payment gateways, CRMs, etc.) DevOps & Version Control - Git (GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket) - Experience with Docker or containerized environments - CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI/CD CMS & Tools - Drupal module & theme development - Composer dependency management - Drupal CLI tools (Drush) Testing & Quality - PHPUnit or Symfony's built-in testing tools - Familiarity with static analysis tools (PHPStan, Psalm) Qualifications : - Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. - 4 years of experience in PHP development with a focus on Symfony and Drupal. - Strong understanding of OOP, MVC design patterns, and modern PHP development practices. - Experience with Agile development methodologies. - Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills. - Strong verbal and written communication skills. Preferred (Nice to Have) : - Drupal certification or Symfony certification. - Experience with headless Drupal or decoupled architecture. - Knowledge of accessibility standards and SEO best practices. - Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP (ref:hirist.tech)
