What We Are Looking For: The DanceOne team is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Merchandise Buyer Assistant to support our Star Dance Alliance (SDA) tour merchandise program. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a passion for the live event or retail space, and enjoys being hands-on in merchandising operations—from concept to execution. In This Role, You Will: Collaborate with the Director of Merchandise, planners, and designers to build seasonal merchandise assortments for SDA tours Support the SDA Tour Lead and assist in executing merchandising strategy to drive sales Coordinate design development and product timelines, including vendor communication and outsourced artwork Order and manage inventory for all SDA-branded giveaways Maintain accurate SKU tracking, inventory flow documentation, and internal merchandise databases Assist in building buy plans, placing purchase orders, and compiling post-tour sales performance recaps Generate weekly inventory reports and support reorder planning Maintain and update the POS system, weekly sales reports, and applicable sales tax records Generate and distribute weekly sales recap reports to internal stakeholders Manage the weekly reorder process to ensure appropriate stock levels based on sales trends and event performance Manage product samples, follow up with vendors, and support the overall product lifecycle from design to delivery What You Need: Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising, Fashion, Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred 1–3 years of experience in buying, planning, product development, or merchandising—ideally in apparel, retail, or live events Prior experience in entertainment, music, live production, or dance is a strong plus Familiarity with the dance convention industry is a bonus Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—with the ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets; comfort with inventory/order tracking systems Availability to travel for events and merchandise-related projects as needed Collaborative mindset, strong attention to detail, and a creative eye for product coordination In compliance with the Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance (FCOE), this employment is contingent upon the confidential review of your criminal history. As the Merchandise Buyer Assistant, you will be entrusted with responsibilities that support the production, distribution, and presentation of DanceOne’s merchandise across high-visibility national events. Should the background check reveal any concerns that conflict with these responsibilities or DanceOne's Code of Conduct, you will be notified immediately, and the company will proceed in accordance with the requirements of the FCOE, which may include rescinding the offer of employment if necessary. Physical, Community & Environment: Physical requirements include computer screen time, sitting, standing, walking, bending, pushing/pulling, and lifting up to 30 lbs. unassisted.
