Job Description : We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Red Hat OpenShift Engineer to join our dynamic team in a fully remote capacity. As a key member of our infrastructure and DevOps team, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management and maintenance of our Red Hat OpenShift platforms. The ideal candidate will possess significant hands-on experience with OpenShift, a strong understanding of containerization technologies, and a passion for ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of our containerized deployments. Holding a valid Red Hat OpenShift Certification is mandatory for this role. You will collaborate closely with DevOps teams and other stakeholders in a remote setting to support our continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and overall system stability. Key Responsibilities : OpenShift Cluster Management : - Deploy, configure, manage, and maintain Red Hat OpenShift clusters across different environments (e.g., development, staging, production). - Perform cluster upgrades, patching, and scaling as required. - Monitor cluster health, performance, and resource utilization, implementing necessary optimizations. - Implement and enforce security policies and best practices within the OpenShift environment. CI/CD Pipeline Design and Support : - Collaborate with DevOps teams to design, implement, and support CI/CD pipelines leveraging OpenShift capabilities. - Integrate OpenShift with various CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Argo CD). - Automate deployment processes and infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) principles. Containerized Environment Support : - Troubleshoot and resolve issues within containerized applications and the underlying OpenShift infrastructure. - Provide support to development teams for containerizing applications and deploying them on OpenShift. - Implement and manage container registries and image management strategies. Security and Compliance : - Implement and maintain security best practices within the OpenShift environment, adhering to relevant compliance standards. - Configure and manage network policies, security contexts, and RBAC (Role-Based Access Control) within OpenShift. - Participate in security audits and address any identified vulnerabilities. Remote Collaboration : Effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams (development, QA, security) in a remote work environment using various communication and collaboration tools. Participate in virtual meetings, provide clear and concise updates, and contribute to team knowledge sharing. Proactively communicate potential issues and propose solutions. Required Skills : - Strong expertise in Red Hat OpenShift (version 4.x preferred) architecture, administration, and troubleshooting. - Good understanding of Kubernetes concepts, architecture, and command-line tools (kubectl). - Solid knowledge of Docker and containerization principles and best practices. - Proven experience with Linux administration, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). - Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash and Python for automation and operational tasks. Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices, including : - Jenkins, Git, and Ansible (or similar tools for CI/CD and automation). - Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible). - Monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack). Mandatory Requirements : - Valid Red Hat OpenShift Certification (Must Have) - e.g., Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration, Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) with OpenShift focus. - Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly and concisely in a remote setting. - Strong team collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with remote colleagues. - Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
