About the Company: The company has been in business for 60 years. They are a leading design build mechanical/energy services company with concentration on commercial and federal projects. About the Position As a Controls Project Manager , you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of an automation project's installation and engineering, ensuring successful project delivery from start to finish. Your role will include managing sub-contractors, overseeing engineering development, purchasing equipment, programming, and operational commissioning. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing project budgets to maximize profitability and ensuring the timely completion of projects. Key duties and responsibilities include: Generating project schedules and facilitating engineering and programming efforts as needed to manage the installation of specific projects. Procuring all temperature controls materials for assigned projects. Developing the scope of work for projects and coordinating with controls-specific sub-contractors, including equipment start-up technicians, low voltage electricians, and air/water balancers. Ensuring the highest possible gross profit (GP) for each project by actively managing project budgets in collaboration with the Controls Operations Manager. Monitoring and reporting on project progress, ensuring all project milestones are met on time and within budget. Conducting site visits as necessary to ensure project quality and safety standards are maintained. Requirements Proven experience in managing automation projects, including oversight of installation, engineering, and commissioning processes. Proficiency in multiple communication protocols, including BACnet, LONworks, and Modbus. Strong knowledge and experience with control systems, including Tridium, Trane Tracer TU/SC, and Distec. Experience in sub-contractor management, including coordinating with technicians and electricians. Strong budget management skills and the ability to maximize project profitability. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, customers, and sub-contractors. Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail. A degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience in controls project management.
