Reporting to the Director Health Safety and Wellbeing, the Manager Workplace Health and Safety leads a team of Safety and Injury Management experts in delivering professional services to keep our people safety and healthy. Demonstrating expertise in workplace health and safety, rehabilitation and injury management, and leadership, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of our staff, and protecting their ability to deliver great care every day. Salary range: $136,035 - $145,990 p.a. (AO7) 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation Plus great Salary Sacrificing ( https://www.careers.health.qld.gov.au/working-for-us/salary-and-benefits/salary-packaging ) options Flexible working arrangements may be available About the role The Manager, Workplace Health and Safety leads and manages the delivery of high-quality health safety and wellbeing services across the Townsville Hospital and Health Service (HHS), to facilitate effective implementation and maintenance of the Queensland Health, Health Safety and Wellbeing Management System. The role applies specialist health, safety and wellbeing knowledge and understanding of governance, planning, consultation, and risk management processes to a range of work health and safety matters, injury prevention, rehabilitation and return to work with a particular focus on ensuring and maintaining safe work environments across the Townsville HHS. The incumbent will operationally manage and provide professional leadership to key health and safety roles, functions and activities within the unit, including management of human resource, recruitment, leave management, rostering and other day-to-day processes. Role requirements While not mandatory, possession of tertiary qualifications in Workplace health and safety, injury management, corporate governance and/or risk management would be highly regarded. Possession of a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment would be highly regarded. Please refer to the role description for further details. Why Choose Us?
